Urban sketching is the practice of drawing on location, in real time, from direct observation. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the essentials: choosing your tools, simplifying what you see, putting down your first confident lines, and bringing your sketch to life with a touch of color. We'll sketch together in a welcoming, low-pressure setting where wobbly lines are celebrated.
This class is designed for true beginners. If you've ever wanted to start sketching but didn't know how, this is your starting point.
What we'll cover:
- The urban sketching mindset: looking slowly and drawing what matters
- Your essential kit and how to use it
- Simplifying a scene so it feels manageable, not overwhelming
- Confident line work and your first on-location sketch

Add a materials kit: Choose the kit option and everything you need is ready and waiting- a curated set of supplies, all yours to keep and continue sketching with. Choose instruction only if you'd prefer to bring your own supplies.
