Bring your line work to life with watercolor.
Once you're comfortable with line, color is where a sketch truly comes alive... light, shadow, and that lovely loose wash that gives a drawing atmosphere and warmth. In this workshop, we'll explore watercolor basics in a friendly, hands-on afternoon, working color directly into your sketches on location.
This class is for sketchers with some drawing experience, either a little practice under your belt, or having attended the Intro to Urban Sketching workshop. If you're brand new to sketching, the Intro class is the better place to begin.
What we'll cover:
- Watercolor basics for the urban sketcher
- Working with light and shadow to give a sketch depth
- Loose, expressive washes that complement rather than overwhelm your line work
- Adding color confidently on location
All materials are provided.
